John Terrell brings over 30 years of real estate development and management experience to KoenigRubloff Real Estate. Terrell is a results oriented executive with a proven track record in his own firm, national real estate firms and a large architectural firm. Through years of experience, Terrell brings a thorough knowledge of master/urban planning, design/construction management, contract/lease negotiations, marketing, budget/cost control, financial analysis/financing and asset management. Terrell’s experience in economic and community development provides an effective liaison for large and small communities.
Recently, he has been involved as a partner and Development Executive with Mirbeau of Geneva Lakes, LLC on a 710 acre site, providing site selection, feasibility, planning and entitlement processes, to develop a mixed-use development, that includes a Retreat, with a 100 room boutique inn, world class spa, and banquet/conference facilities and 882 unit residential community. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, Real Estate Development for the Lakeshore Centre/Kaiser Companies and as Senior Vice President of Development for The Prime Group, Inc. Terrell managed the real estate development activities including feasibility, design/construction, government approvals and financing for such projects as, the $180 million Sherman Plaza, a mixed-use retail and condominium development in Evanston, Illinois; the $27 million Reebok Sports Center and Spa in London, England; the $25 million Lake Shore Athletic Club and Spa in Broomfield, Colorado and the $260 million 150 North Riverside, a 835 unit residential development proposal in Chicago, Illinois.
Earlier in his career, Terrell managed his own real estate development and consulting firm for 10 years in Boston, Massachusetts where his clients included The Peabody Museum of Salem, the Essex Institute, The City of Salem, the National Park Service and Fidelity Investments. Prior to forming his own company, Terrell served with Prudential Property Company, Inc. and Urban Investment and Development Company where he had project management responsibility for developments, such as, Copley Place and the Prudential Center in Boston, Massachusetts; Stratford Square shopping center in Bloomingdale, Illinois and the Ritz Carlton Hotel at Watertower Place in Chicago, Illinois.
Terrell is a graduate of University of Illinois, Chicago, receiving a Bachelor of Architecture and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Executive Management Program.
